Mansfield needed to repair a damaged frame around a portable generator and mount wheels to it to enable easier movement from one place to another. Northwest was commissioned to do the job with a one day turnaround. Our engineers removed the generator from the frame, cut a piece of solid round bar to fit inside the tubular frame and welded it at the break. The round bar became an internal splint to provide improved reinforcement. Our engineers made axles and axle supports and welded these to the generator frame to ensure an even distribution on the wheels. Upon addition of the wheels, we then levelled the machine. As well as completing the work set out by the client, we also made legs to support the frame at one end to help stabilise the generator. The work was completed on time and delivered to the client. We received positive and complimentary feedback from the client regarding the work to be undertaken. |
Northwest Engineering partnered with Powerserve Electrical (our sibling company) to provide a full service for the mechanical decommissioning of Air New Zealand's self-check-in facilities (Powerserve were responsible for the electrical decommissioning). Due to our historical familiarity in the area, and our partnership with Powerserve, we were an obvious choice for the contract. Throughout the project, we worked co-operatively alongside other trades to ensure the decommissioning was conducted in a site safe manner and to site specific criteria. |
